Friends of Portaferry Presbyterian Church
Portaferry Presbyterian Church , built in 1841, has been described by the illustrious CEB Brett as being 'one of the most interesting examples of Greek Revival architecture in Ireland... a magnificent Greek temple with a six columned portico at each end... one of the most distinguished neo-classical buildings in Ulster.'
FPPC was formed with the intention of reviving this wonderful building and expanding it's use to include much more than the current weekly service.
A highly successful series of concerts and other events has created a much greater awareness of the building and its potential. Now the efforts of the fPPC are being directed towards securing Heritage Lottery funding in order to reinvent the building as a heritage centre and a fantastic performance venue, benefiting the local community and visitors alike.
