Traditional Japanese Martial arts - we learn both armed and unarmed Japanese Martial arts as taught in the Jinenkan organisation. These include unarmed techniques taken from a number of koryu (old schools) including striking arts ( koppojutsu, kosshijutsu, dakentaijutsu and jutaijutsu) and weapons based arts including use of wooden staff weapons, sword, spear, halberd and many more. The instructor Dr Stephen Greenfield is a Godan (5th Dan) personal student of Manaka 'Unsui' sensei, head of the Jinenkan organisation
Catch Wrestling - this art comes from 'catch as catch can' wrestling. A traditional English form of wrestling that developed in the North of England and closely tied to the mining towns in which it developed. It is a form of submission wrestling that employs many throws , positions and submissions to overcome the opponent. It contains many painful holds and submissions. We are an affiliate club under the Snakepit (www.snakepitwigan.com) and train with Coach Roy Wood. So if you want to learn authentic Catch Wrestling, as taught at the Snakepit in Wigan the home of catch wrestling, by one of the last Catch Wrestlers to be taught by the great Billy Riley, then there is only one place in Wales to go!
