This is simply a page for the local people of Littleborough to voice their opinion on the proposed new Tesco store which the global brand and small retailer crusher is planning to open on Stockton St Littleborough. Please Please we genuinely do not need this to happen. We have some wonderful independent shops on Church Street and Harehill Road who will be massively affected by this (if it happens) and we seriously do have to fight this as it will affect us and it will have a negative effect on our wonderful village. Please do get involved, do you seriously want to be a "clone" town were you buy everything from one massive global corporation who in reality couldn't care less about you but wants your cash? Or would you rather spend your money in the local butchers, the local florist, clothes shops, deli's, dry cleaners, newsagents etc etc etc etc. People in our borough have fought hard and put so much effort into what we are which is a strong independent "local" village and we DO NOT need railroading by a corporation riddled in controversy coming into our backyard and attempting to dictate what we buy and how we buy it.
