Exmouth Rowingclub

Exmouth Rowingclub

Formed in November 1993, ERC is an inclusive, community rowing club that brings the traditions and skills of estuary and sea rowing to the town. We also hope to attract enthusiastic rowers to form the competitive core of an amateur rowing club. On the beach our boats attract a great deal of attention and provide the town with both a sporting and visual amenity. On this page you can see information about our events, results, latest ERC news and pictures.

Fairford & District Choral Society

Fairford & District Choral Society

In 2006 it was decided to formalise this choir into the Fairford and District Choral Society to perform several concerts a year of both a sacred and secular nature. The conductor is John Read who is a member of the Association of British Choral Directors. How to join: We welcome people of age 16 and above. If you have some knowledge of music and are able to sing at sight this will help you with some of the more demanding music but if you have a tuneful voice and a good musical memory you should not have any great difficulty in performing the music we sing. From time to time we arrange Singing Training Days to help with voice production. Our 2011 fees are currently £45 per annum or £22.50 per term. These monies are used to defray the expenses of hiring soloists and copies and compare very favourably with other local choirs. Fees are waived for people under the age of 21. If you would like to join please contact the Membership Secretary on 01285 713681, by email (choralsociety@fairford.org) or fill in and post the application form on our website. Where we meet: Concerts normally take place in the beautiful and historic setting of St Mary’s Church in Fairford. St Mary’s is famous for its complete set of stained glass from the 15th century, which is unique in a parish church. Rehearsals are held in the Fairford United Church, Milton Street, Fairford GL7 4BW, where the facilities are excellent. Our logo was kindly designed by Jake Sutton.
