EXMOUTH ILLUMINATED CARNIVAL

EXMOUTH ILLUMINATED CARNIVAL

Imperial Road, Exmouth ,
Exmouth Carnival used to be held annually in the Summer but in 1995 it was renamed the Exmouth Illuminated Carnival and the date was changed to the second Saturday in October. The Carnival costs £6,000 a year to run and we raise money by holding various fundraising events throughout the year like curry, pint & quiz nights, summer fetes, a fun day, car boots and our infamous ditloid quizzes. Entrants assemble in the coach and lorry park before lining up on The Royal Parade, Exmouth ready for the start at 7.30pm. The procession then travels along Imperial Road and Marine Way before turning into Exeter Road then along Parade before finishing at the roundabout by KFC. Exmouth Carnival is now run by a committee of 10 people and we hope this years' procession will be the biggest and best Exmouth has seen.
Exmouth LETS - Cash free trading for Exmouth

Exmouth LETS - Cash free trading for Exmouth

Exmouth LETS (Local Exchange Trading System) is a not-for-profit, community-based barter system. It comprises individuals and groups from Exmouth and surrounding areas who have pooled their skills and resources to form a local network that allows members to trade goods and services without using money. Instead of using pounds and pence, Exmouth LETS has its own virtual 'currency', the Cockle. You can trade goods and services by registering with the system on our website – http://www.exmouthlets.org.uk/ Our annual subscription – to cover administration – is £5, payable on registration via PayPal, cheque or cash. The subscription is renewable on 1 January of each year. Once you've joined Exmouth LETS you can trade goods and services by using our website where all transactions are logged and automatically processed by the system. As well as members' offers and requests, we have introduced a noticeboard for one-off offers. We operate a flat Cockle rate of 10 Cockles per hour for all services. No one can charge more than this rate for their services. Out of pocket expenses – fuel, materials, etc – can be charged in sterling. This is pre-agreed between members, prior to the transaction. Sterling transactions are not logged on the site. Exmouth LETS Facebook page is an additional communication channel. All transactions take place on our website, not via Facebook.
