Our wide-ranging programme encompasses everything from international orchestras to community productions, and music theatre world premieres to traditional drama.

Established in 1995, the club runs three purpose built venues in Edinburgh Glasgow and Newcastle. They are all week with a varied programme of contemporary comedy featuring the best Scottish and international comedians. Started by a bunch of enthusiasts as a hobby, The Stand has now become a successful commercial company, but one that is true to its roots of developing new comedy in Scotland and giving audiences variety and value. The programme includes the Red Raw beginners’ nights, improvised comedy, sketch shows, the all female Wicked Wenches, plus Irish and Scottish showcases. Together with solo shows from better known performers and prime stand-up every weekend, there’s always something going on. History: Hammersmith Apollo opened in 1932 as the Gaumont Palace and became the Hammersmith Odeon in 1962. Designed in the Art Deco style its life began as a cinema but whilst named the Odeon it became a famous destination for live music, indluing artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Bob Marley. Grade II* listed since the 1990s it became an adaptable space in 2006 in order to accommodate larger, standing crowds. The 1932 fully restored Compton organ, used in its cinema days, is still found at the venue which has also become a favourite place for Live (and televised) Comedy events. With a mixed standing seated capacity of over 3500 and 5000 for all standing it remains one of London’s legendary venues.

Based down on Yeoman Street in the heart of Leicester City Centre, The Shed’s doors have been open since 1994. The Shed is a live music venue and nightclub, showcasing some of the best local and national music from the underground music scene playing largely unsigned, upcoming groups and artistes. The venue commonly plays 3-5 bands a night but can cater up to 6 a night meaning an audience can see a wide range of live music in the space of hours. Additionally the popular Saturday matinees caters for the under 18’s, playing music from local colleges and schools. Like all great live music venues The Shed caters for all alternative music tastes – covering a wide area of music – punk, ska, rock, metal, indie and acoustic. Additionally The Shed also holds day festivals and charity events, as well as holding the yearly preliminary rounds and auditions of the Glastonbudget Festival and holds the Oxjam music festival. The venue has a complete new in-house state of the art PA sound system and lighting rig as well as in house sound technicians – ensuring both the band and the audience have a great time!
