Stonehaven Folk Festival

What a busy year we have had. In – 2012 the festival was nominated as “Best Event” at the MG Alba Scots Trad Awards. Unfortunately we didn'’t win but the nomination was a great endorsement to what we have been doing to develop the festival over the years. 2013 will be our 25th Festival and we are hoping to make it just a little bit better than last year. Festival line up is now confirmed and includes Dougie MacLean, Ken Clark, Rura, Anna Massie and Maireared Green, The Occasionals Ceilidh Band, Arthur Johnstone & Danny Cooper, the North east Folk Collective, Kristina Olsen, Breabach, Zoe Bestel, Bella Hardy and Paul Brady. To be able to fit everything in we have reinstated the Thursday night Concert. We will also have a full programme of Workshops and Sessions and we can confirm that the Steenhive Big Sing will take place again. Plus all your favourites such as the Plainstones, Cowie Fringe, Aqua Ceilidh, World Paper’n’Comb Championships, Tradition Bearers Concert and Chorus Cup. Tickets go on sale from 1 April for festival Friends and to the general public on 1 May, details to be announced soon.
