The Herne
Dear Patrons,
Apologies for not getting in contact sooner, we are the new custodians of your local, The Herne.
We are Cymon, Jade & Jonnie, Cymon and Jade are Partners with 4 children and 1 on the way, Jonnie is our group Chef
with one on the way, so we’re kid friendly, but we still love our own lives, so we’re adult friendly also.
We are the Britannia Pub Company, our aim is to continue the tradition of The Great British Pub, we currently
operate The Half Moon Pubic House at Herne Hill & The Griffin in Shoreditch, both of which are Grade II listed.
This company aims to find authentic pubs and where possible, retain as much as the original building & decoration. We love William Morris & A W Pugin but we also love Fornessetti, we will not rip out pubs to turn into Gastro norms!
We refurbish, re-decorate and hopefully elevate an already great pub.
The role of the pub has morphed over time, we see them as extensions of our lives, our living room,
dining room, party space and banquet hall. They are spaces for you to get away from it all and for sharing good times.
So, we write this as notice of some changes at The Herne, she needs some TLC, please bear with us.
You will see them happen on a daily basis, feel free to comment and input.The Garden is to be completely
renovated but we missed the summer, so, we’re starting on the interior first.
We are completely redecorating the interior, there will be new colours, textures & lighting,
most of the fittings will remain but with a few additions.
The Menus & drinks lists will modify, being a tied pub the core brands will remain but we’ll drop in some
craft bottled beer. Our food will be fresh produce from local suppliers, where possible.
Our menus will be modern British with street food and other wordly influences that will cater for the whole day up to close. The new kitchen opening hours are now in effect 12.00 - 21.30 Mon - Sat,
Sunday of course the roasts of course remain, but with new hours 12.00 - 20.00.
To finish off, our brand new Food Menu is launching on August the 2nd, we will have DJs providing the music,
this will be a new format to friday nights, creating a different, fresh & exciting soundtrack for the weekend.
Our theme for the Herne is a family & adult friendly pub with a great Modern British Menu,
great drinks and fun entertainment, in a no nonsense straight up way.
