France hill school

France hill school

1 watchetts drive, Camberley ,
France Hill School opened as a mixed secondary school on 3 Nov 1947 in a 19th century house on France Hill Drive, Camberley. The school originally consisted of 90 pupils, 43 girls and 47 boys, aged 13-15 years, who were accommodated in 4 rooms. By 1948, the school had taken over two huts in the grounds and, between 1953 and 1958, classes were also held in the Central Hall, The Avenue, Camberley. The school moved to new premises in Watchetts Drive in September 1958 and reopened as a secondary modern school with over 700 pupils on the roll. From this date, the school admitted children from the age of 11, who were accommodated in France Hill House, now known as 'The Annex'. The school finally ceased to use 'The Annex' in 1967 and the lower years were moved to the former Grammar School premises in Frimley Road. A second phase of building development was completed in 1970. In 1971, France Hill became a comprehensive school. The school closed in August 2001 and a new school, King's International College for Business and the Arts, opened on the site in September 2001.

You can have peace of mind when training with The LGV Training Company as all of our training schools are DSA registered. You may not believe it, but it is not compulsory for a training school to be of a DSA standard. At the end of the day, we're road users too, so it's in our interests to make sure you're a safe driver! We know that booking an HGV Training or an LGV Training course is a big decision. You need to make sure you're confident of the HGV training provided, as well as making sure you have confidence in your financial investment. For both these reasons, The LGV Training Company is registered with the Road Haulage Association. This means we are up to date with all EU laws and legislations, we maintain the training we provide at the high standard expected by industry professionals, and, what's more, if you really want to you can check up on us and see that we're a company you can trust.

PEDAL OUT POVERTY

PEDAL OUT POVERTY

A 5,500 Mile- Bike trek through Southeast Asia to raise £14,000 for Blue Dragon Children's Foundation, StreetKids Asia, Philippines Outreach Centre, Wings Melaka Malaysia, East Bali Poverty Project. In 2011/2012 I had been on holiday to Thailand and Laos, it was a holiday and not real backpacking. Anyway after leaving I had come back with the travel bug and wanted to do the whole Southeast Asia Backpack experience. I’m big fan of cycling as I don’t drive yet, so I cycle everywhere and love it; I had toyed with the idea of cycling across Asia but did wonder if it was possible. So I looked into "cycling Asia" and there is heaps of advice and plenty of stories complete with routes for biking Asia. So on Google Maps I planned my route- Singapore-Hanoi.-(fly)- Manila-Davao,-(want to try if poss., bike/ferry it2 Bali), Bali-Jakarta. I’ve always been interested in Charity Voluntary work abroad, being able to travel the world having your own adventure whilst making an impact on people’s life’s that are less fortunate than myself. The only thing that puts me off these schemes is sometimes the high cost involved and this is why I decided to start Pedal out Poverty. The 7 countries I’ll be cycling through have different levels of poverty some high some low and some rank near the bottom on Global Development lists. At first glance, it seems surprising that Southeast would suffer from so much poverty. The region’s tourism is booming due to its natural beauty and outstanding cultural sites. They’ve been blessed with a lengthy growing season, increasing manufacturing and trade as Chinese goods become more expensive. Yet poverty remains widespread in many areas, and South Asia has the world’s largest concentration of poor people—more than 500 million people live on less than $1.25 a day. I aim to raise £14,000 cycling 5,500 plus miles through 7 countries. I will be dividing the funds up equally with 7 charities that I have chosen.
