Long Eaton Art Room is a voluntary organization that believes anyone can benefit from the therapeutic qualities of art & craft making. We were established in April 2006 by a group of enthusiastic creative people for the general public to use as a meeting place where they can relax, have fun making things and learn at their own pace. As well as participating in art for pleasure we are proud to say that we have helped some of our customers to progress onto either further education or become successful self employed artists. We have also built strong ties with a number of community groups, local schools and the local authority, running creative workshops at either the Art Room or at specific community events.

Erewash Borough Council has agreed to give our constituted community group a large piece of land within the Norfolk Road Allotment site. A small group of local people have been working together for the last 2 years to plan, design and create a Community Garden for everyone in Long Eaton to benefit from. We will be seeking funding to manage the site well with a paid worker who will be able to run sessions on a wide range of topics. We hope, in time, to install a meeting space, outdoor cooking area, forest school for young children and many other features in collaboration with local people. please feel free to get involved!

We are a group of Christians, although the group isn't just for Christians, who want to invest time and energy in this town to make it a great place for people to live. To start with we are going to have targeted weekends where we do social action projects to bless the community and acts of kindness that will make people smile. Want to join us?
