The Haslar Heritage Group was formed in 2001 to organise celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the Royal Hospital Haslar in 2003. The group has continues to research the history of Haslar and the people who served in the hospital and were patients. An archive of material is in progress. The Group display historical material and organise meetings and talks, concerts and tours to highlight the history of the hospital.

Clydeview Academy is a new school in Inverclyde, formed by the amalgamation of Gourock High School and Greenock Academy. The new school building has just been completed and pupils and staff are about to visit it and are making plans for the move in June 2011. The Head Teacher of Clydeview Academy is Mr W Todd. He is now based in the new school.
