Cardiff Harlequins / Cwins Caerdydd (formerly Cardiff High School Old Boys)

Forest Farm Road, Cardiff ,
Welcome to Cardiff Harlequins – formerly known as Cardiff High School Old Boys. We have a proud history history stretches back to 1921. In 1962 a long-standing ambition was achieved when the Old Boys became one of the few clubs in Wales to own its own ground outright. Situated in a delightful environment on the edge of Cardiff, the Diamond ground (named after a former headmaster of Cardiff High) has hosted many rugby events over the years, including matches in the Women’s World Cup. It is frequently used for training purposes by visiting national teams. The club currently boasts 3 mens seniors team a ladies team and a vibrant youth and juniors section including 3 boys teams (under 14,16,19) and 2 girls teams (under 15 and under 18). The club is also linked to the Welsh Language juniors club Cricc which has 7 teams from under 7 to under 14. As if that wasn’t enough we have Running, Lacrosse and Pentanque Sections and a number of exercise classes in the evening. The club includes excellent playing and training facilities (including 3 pitches) and a gym. The clubhouse is available for hire for parties(including 18th birthday parties) and special occasions. For information about how to make a booking please click here. We are truly at the heart of our local community, and we look forward to welcoming you.
Devils Community Foundation

Devils Community Foundation

1 Caspian Point, Pierhead Street, Cardiff Bay, , Caerdydd ,
The Cardiff Devils are extremely proud of the work undertaken by the Devils Community Foundation (Registered Charity No. 1126298), the club’s official charity. Under the leadership of Brent Pope, the Devils Community Foundation (DCF) ensures that the Devils continue to engage, cultivate and re-connect strong relationships within the community of South Wales. The DCF goes from strength to strength each year, rolling out a series of successful programmes and schemes for all members of the South Wales community. In addition to these on-ice initiatives, the DCF also works to build links between the community and local businesses, heading up fantastic schemes such as the highly successful “Adopt a School”. In order to make ice hockey accessible to all people of all ages, the DCF runs the extremely popular initiatives Learn to Play and Play the Game where anyone and everyone is able to both meet new friends and get involved in this fantastic sport. As the DCF is a central part of the Devils organisation, Brent – a former Cardiff Devil – runs these sessions assisted by current members of the Elite Team, ensuring that you are taught by the best. As well as both those who are new to the sport and those who play for local Recreational Hockey Teams, the DCF is heavily involved with numerous Cardiff Devils hockey teams ranging from juniors starting at U10 to our two teams which compete in the English National League, the ENL. In addition, the DCF continues to build upon its strong working relationship with strategic partners such as Cardiff Councils’ Sport Cardiff alongside alliances with Cardiff Business School, UWIC University, South Wales Police and Fire Service coupled with Cardiff Council public awareness schemes and additional projects and partnerships throughout South Wales. The DCF is also heavily involved in innovative approaches to promoting sport in our city, currently establishing a working partnership with the Cardiff Blues Rugby Football Club, Cardiff City Football Club and Glamorgan County Cricket Club. This strategic alliance has created an excellent opportunity for the ‘Big 4’ professional sporting organisations within Cardiff to expand their cross promotional involvement within the sporting community and is helping to introduce Ice Hockey to new audiences. Brent: “Ice Hockey is a family sport that has always attracted a wide demographic of people. One of the secrets to the club’s success in South Wales since its inception has been the positive relationship that the players and the club have had within the community as local role models. This is what the DCF is all about and we are continuing to build on this”
