Disabled Facilities
Full wheelchair access is on offer in each screen with a lift to the bar area. An induction loop is installed in all auditoriums for those guests who are hard of hearing. You can also take advantage of our Audio Description and Digital Subtitling facilities in Screen 10 (please inquire before to make sure this is available on the day you wish to visit the cinema). There is also disabled parking on every other floor at Sunniside car park (the multi storey opposite the cinema).

Driving Directions
Following the A183 into the City centre pass over the Wearmouth Bridge, turn left at the roundabout, right at the next roundabout, then take your third road on the right, this leads you directly to the Sunniside Car Park which is opposite the cinemas main entrance. The Car Park is signposted from the main routes in to the city centre.
Following the A1018 north, turn left at the roundabout leading to High Street West, then take your third road on the right, again this leads you directly to the Sunniside Car Park opposite the cinemas main entrance.

Travelling by Train:
The Empire Cinema in Sunderland is only a short walk away from Sunderland Railway Station. The station is serviced by Northern Rail and the Tyne & Wear Metro. Upon arrival, exit the station by the main entrance and turn left. Once you reach Wilkinsons, turn left again and walk along Fawcett Street. Take the first right after Primark and you will see the signs for Sunniside Leisure.
