Exhibitors
At the main Festival weekend at Snape Maltings, over the weekend of 29th and 30th September, we are expecting over 90 exhibitors showcasing organic vegetables, fresh and smoked fish, rare breed meat and game, cheeses, frozen yoghurt, jams, beer, wine and lager. Virtually all our exhibitors’ businesses are based here in East Suffolk, reflecting the high quality and tremendous variety of food and drink in the region.
Programmes & Workshops
The main festival weekend is always an impressive two-day programme of talks, workshops and cookery demonstrations from top chefs. Chefs who have confirmed that they will be visiting in 2012 include Henry Harris, Matthew Fort, Angela Hartnett, Valentine Warner and Emma Crowhurst as well as many of the finest local Suffolk chefs.
Photography Competition
We are running a competition this year to find some great photos of the Festival. If you take some exceptionally good pictures, please email them to jenny@aldeburghfoodanddrink.co.uk. Any used on the Festival website or in future printed Festival literature will be credited to the photographer and a pair of day passes to the 2013 Festival will be awarded. By sending your pictures through we hope that you will agree to them being uploaded to the Festival facebook page.
Baking Competition
Marriages are organising and sponsoring a Baking Competition at this year’s Festival. There are four classes including Handmade Loaf (any variety, using 500g flour, salt, yeast, water only), Specialist Loaf (including non-grain ingredients eg olives/nuts/fruit), Sourdough (a leavened loaf made without commercial yeast) and Junior Bread Maker – own recipe for 10 – 16 year olds.
