About Me
I am the mother of a one year old daughter and twenty five year old son.
Prior to becoming an Ofsted Registered Childminder, I was a Secondary School teacher; Second in charge of English. I have also Co-ordinated a Learning to Learn, Special Needs unit. The subjects that I have taught include; English, History, Geography, Religious Education, ICT, and a little basic French.
This previous teaching experience will enable me to transfer this knowledge and skills for the benefit and education of the children in my care.
Since having my daughter, I have become a trained Breast Feeding Peer Supporter and regularly attend the Children’s Centres groups such as, Childminding groups, Busy Babies, Kiddiewinks, Baby Massage, Baby Sensory, Breast Feeding Support Group as well as various fun days. I also like to visit Jungle Jim’s, the library, Helter Skelter and other parent and baby/toddler groups
I enjoy walking to the local parks and beaches and visiting local attractions such as Howlett’s and Wildwoods.
I am an accomplished cook and love to bake too, so the children in my care will benefit from home cooked, healthy, fresh food meals. They will also be able to participate in the preparation and baking of meals and snacks. I also enjoy arts and crafts.
My garden in enclosed with appropriate outdoor toys and games. I have a well-stocked variety of educational, cultural toys, books and games that are appropriate for all ages, or that can be differentiated to fit the purpose or child.
For my daughter I use washable cloth nappies, so I am able to offer this as one of services for parents who also use them. As a trained Breast Feeding Peer Supporter I am also able to offer support and understanding for breastfeeding mothers and babies.
All fees are per child per hour
