Knockloughrim Primary School is situated in a pleasant and spacious setting on the edge of the village of Knockloughrim. The children are drawn from the village and from a wide surrounding rural catchment area of up to 10 miles; almost all travel to school by car or by bus. The school’s enrollment has risen from 49 in 2003 to the current figure of around 92 and steadily increasing. The school is going from strength to strength and after our inspection in 2010 was found to be a 'Very Good School' with often 'Outstanding' teaching and 'Excellent Management'. The community in Knockloughrim has reestablished the Knockloughrim Community Development association.

We are one of a growing number of Children's Universities throughout the UK and Europe each working to provide children aged 5-14 years with exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside of the normal school day in a wide variety of Learning Destinations from schools, libraries and universities to science museums, factories, theatres and sporting arenas. Inspiring our little learners and celebrating and rewarding their achievements is what we are all about and we passionately believe learning can be the satellite navigation to better opportunities in life!
