After a massive tour of the USA, Canada, Brazil and Australia, Mat. McHugh (The Beautiful Girls) brings his solo and acoustic tour to Europe and the UK for a series of intimate gigs.
Mat’s teaming up with Seaweed Sessions to visit London, Cornwall, Bournemouth and Bristol for an acoustic performance of songs spanning 10 years, five albums and a whole lot o’miles. Both a retrospective of the man behind ‘The Beautiful Girls’ and a look to the future. He’s shared stages with the likes of Mason Jennings, the Cat Empire and will welcome main support from Matthew P an up-and-coming acoustic talent from Suffolk. Now based in Falmouth he is signed to Fiction Records and maintains a folky feel to his songs born out of a rural seaside upbringing. He’s already raising national eyebrows with his catchy riffs in high demand, so here’s your chance to catch a star in the ascendency.
The tour will commence on the 28th September 2011 on the river Thames with a view of the London Eye, and Houses of Parliament, a regal setting for a bunch of surfers. The run will consist of four consecutive dates in the South and South West. Normally used to the big stage it’s something special to welcome these artists into such intimate and unique settings -- taking in two boats and one beach. The tour will also screen Cyrus Sutton’s minimalist surfari Stoked and Broke, one of the best surf films of the year.
