House of Flowers opened for business in May 2013 under the experienced and talented leadership of David MacKintosh who has worked across the world, including in New York and London.
Known to many in the Invergordon area and beyond, David is a talented florist with a reputation for producing only the very best flowers for all occasions. From a hand-tied arrangement, basket of flowers or traditional style bouquet through to an exquisite, modern design, David and his team believe that they should only ever use flowers and send out designs that they would be happy to have in their own houses. And with David being hard to please, that can only be good news for customers!
The shop stocks a variety of flowers, including exotics and seasonal flowers through to more traditional flowers, which change on a weekly basis. What's more, if a customer asks for a specific flower or variety, the House of Flowers team will pull out all the stops to ensure the customer gets what they want, sourcing from Europe's best flower suppliers. Chocolates, cuddly toys, and champagne are also available.
House of Flowers offer customers the opportunity to order bespoke floral designs that have been made with care and attention, while still retaining excellent value for money and high quality. What more could you ask for?

Make sure time is on your side
The biggest single mistake I see time and time again is brides leaving the ordering of their wedding flowers too late. This is particularly problematic if you want very specific flower varieties that need to be imported specially for your big day.
Be flexible
A clear idea of what you want in terms of flowers on your wedding day is good. However, have too much of a set idea and you may be disappointed if it’s not possible to fulfil your wishes due to flower availability, cost and logistical restraints of working in a venue. So, it pays to provide an overall feel, colour scheme, style and budget that we can work together with.
Think about your colour combinations
Trying to match flowers to the colour of the bridesmaid’s dress is difficult. As well as the photos not working well if the flowers and bridesmaids match, certain flowers, especially hydrangeas, change colour through the seasons. Flowers are natural things, so it’s better to go for a combination of complementary colours.
Look at the overall price – not the flower price
You could be forgiven for ruling out high-value blooms immediately. However, while hydrangeas, big vintage garden roses and orchids are more expensive than other flowers, they can be better value overall, with fewer stems required as larger heads cover a larger area. They can also have a much greater impact. That's why at House of Flowers we'll work to achieve your desired look within your budget.
Don’t rule out prop hire
If you have your heart set on using beautiful candelabras on your tables, or you would like glass vases filled with flowers everywhere, consider prop hire. Also, consider what you’ll do with 30 glass vases after the wedding if you buy them!
Prepare to use arrangements more than once
Your flower budget will need to work hard. So, why not see if you can use arrangements created for your ceremony venue later in the day at your reception?

House Of Flowers covers all aspects of funeral work, ranging from traditional wreaths and coffin sprays to designer tributes and 3D tributes such as football pitches, tennis courts and even a handmade garden on a designer board. Letter tributes are also no problem at all.
