The journey from education to employment is one of the key moments in a young person's life. It is a journey for all that too many is broken by the lack of employment opportunities. It is in the common weal that across our country we ensure that our young people have the choices and chances to enable them to reach their full potential.
This Training Academy gives our young people the opportunity to channel their talent, enthusiasm and energy into sustainable and rewarding employment is critical to our future economic sucess.
IT and computer skills are vital and an absolute must in the job market today. Youngsters could become a valuable addition to any company with the right skills and know how.
In our Training Academy, the trainees will be taught proficiency in the standard use of MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and Publisher. They are also taught how to use spreadsheets, databases and the internet for research and correspondence. They are taught practical day-to-day tasks necessary for office work such as typing, filing, photocopying, working the fax machine and reception work.
Trainees will be working towards a Business & Administration Level 2 MA during the 6 months in the Training Academy. They will also be assisted to apply for jobs if there are any opportunities available and be placed with and gain work experience with employer links that we have. The target group, initially, is 16-19 year olds.
