About me: I am just one of those people that can't stop making things! Over the years this has ranged from Blue Peter making, still life drawing, baby quilts, embarrassing hats, Christmas presents for everyone, clay sculpture, jewellery etc etc. Now my children have become older and needing me less, with encouragement from my friends I have opened a shop! I love mid-century classic design, but also have a wide range of tastes. I have an interest in old items, I love giving something a new lease of life, wondering what past they've had, what energy they may have absorbed through the years. I guess I am a bit of an old hippy truth be told. I am drawn to items that our individual and beautiful even if no longer perfect. So many people who know me say "well this is just Lucy in a shop!" and I guess they are right....I hope you enjoy visiting my page, find items of interest and also visit me in person. Thanks Lucy

Bideford Bay Children's Centre has developed from the Sure Start Bideford Local Programme, which was set up in 2002. When the programme was first set up it covered only the areas of Bideford North, South and East. In 2005 the Sure Start Local Programme became a Children's Centre, and its area expanded to include Appledore and Westward Ho!. In 2006 the area which the Sure Start Bideford Children's Centre covered was extended to include Northam and Instow. And in 2008 the Children's Centre extended its area along the coast from Westward Ho! to Clovelly and Hartland. To mark this change, we changed our name to Bideford Bay Children's Centre to reflect more accurately the area we cover. Extending our area means many new challenges in terms of the services we can hope to provide for all our families.

Here at Blazeys of Bideford we pride ourselves in bringing you the best that Devon has to offer by working with local suppliers. All of our cakes are freshly baked by us and we're constantly trying new recipes to keep the cake cabinet deliciously inventive- why not come in and have a slice with a coffee? On top of an extensive everyday menu, we host a sizzling barbecue every Saturday using specially created sausages and burgers. Our ice cream range is supplied exclusively to us so you won't find it anywhere else. We also stock an extensive range of preserves and hampers as well as local arts and crafts for you to enjoy at home or as a gift.
