The Marple Business Forum represents the retailers and businesses of Marple. Our aim is to promote the town, represent the best interest of its members when dealing with Stockport Council, police and other authorities, and act as a discussion forum for local businesses at our regular meetings. As a pressure group we help bring about improvements to our town: we were instrumental in getting security CCTV installed. We are also responsible for the Christmas lights! This beautiful historic town plays an important role in the global centenary of the fatal maiden voyage of the Titanic. Through March, April and May 2012 a large exhibition and series of events is being planned in Maryport to commemorate the centenary of what was once the world's largest and most luxurious ship. MYCC is a hub for youth activities in and around Maryport. MYCC holds a number of youth and homework clubs for any youth aged 6-20+. MYCC holds the following clubs: - M:PowerHour+ (3:15PM - 4:45PM every Wednesday) A homework club which is open for all children of secondary school age and it doesn't matter which school they belong to. Each session has 2 local teachers that will help (but not do it for you!). School Term time only - Friday Club & Friday Club Junior Youth (6PM-7:30PM every Friday!) For children aged 6-8 and 9-11 (inclusive). At this club, children play games and activities, arts and crafts etc as part of their weekly get together! They also have a tuck shop! School Term time only. - John Street Youth Club (7:30PM - 9:00PM every Friday) This group is for youth aged 12 and over. They have a variety of activities including drama, computers, table tennis and so on. This Youth Club also has their own room with a pool table and a number of sofas in. Tuck shop facilities are also available.
