Following successful back to back promotions in 2010/11 and 2011/12, Larne Ladies 1st XI have kept their place in Senior 1 with a nail biting climax to the 2012/13 season. Ulster Hockey's elite remain only 1 league away...will 2013/14 see us edge a little bit closer to top flight hockey?? Larne Ladies 2nd XI enjoyed a successful season under the Captaincy of goal keeper turned top goal scorer, Tracey Martin. 2012/13 saw them finish mid table in Junior 3 and avoid the final day relegation worries of 2010/11 and 2011/12. Another fantastic season for newbies Larne Ladies 3rd XI saw them follow up 2011/12's promotion from Junior 10 with an appearance in the Shield Final and hopefully another promotion...if the results are ever updated!! Launceston Town Council

Launceston Town Council

Launceston Town Hall, Launceston ,
The Town Council administers the following properties: Town Hall and Guildhall Southgate Arch Lawrence House Museum The Roundhouse Launceston Priory Ruins War Memorial Launceston Cemetery Dockacre Cemetery (closed) Grammers Park Kings Field Coach Park Dutson, Kensey and Grammers Park Allotments Westgate Street multi-storey Car Park Packhorse Bridge, Newport Windmill Wood Tourist Information Centre Launceston Town Council is the parish authority for the town of Launceston (which has a population of approximately 7,000), and is the third tier of government after Parliament and Cornwall Council. Its legal powers are granted to it and regulated by various Government Acts. Cornwall became a Unitary Authority in April 2009 and as a result of this, it is hoped that many of the local responsibilities carried out by the former North Cornwall District Council will be passed on to Town and Parish Councils to manage. Launceston Town Council is keen to take on a number of tasks but no decisions have yet been made. The Town Council supplements the provision of local government services in Launceston, and provides a range of social and recreational facilities, while promoting and representing the town with other national and statutory bodies. For example, the Town Council acts as a contultee and lobbying force with the County Council, and both regional and national government, putting forward the wishes and needs of the local community. Cornwall Council, which covers the whole of the county, consults with the Town Council on such subjects as the County Structure Plan, Launceston planning applications and the Local Transport Plan.
