Asperger's Voice Self-Advocacy Group, West Sussex
The Old Post Office Resource Centre, 30-32 Station Road,
Burgess Hill
,
The aims of the group include:
- to help others with Asperger's get better at speaking up for ourselves;
- to meet together, make friends and support each other;
- to raise awareness and acceptance of issues faced by people with Asperger's;
- to have a say in local policies and services affecting people with Asperger's.
The group meets monthly, currently 7-9pm on the last Thursday of the month in Burgess Hill (except December, when we meet a week earlier due to Christmas). Group members make the decisions about what the meetings are about, for example guest speakers, discussions around topics of interest, film nights.
If you would like to find out more about the Self-Advocacy Group, please contact us. As the Group is run by and for adults with Asperger's, we are not inviting friends, parents, carers or other supporters to join. If you are a friend, parent, carer or supporter of somebody with Asperger's, who you think might be interested in joining/finding out more about the Self-Advocacy Group, please forward this link and event to them. If you are interested in helping to fundraise for our small, nonprofit, community group, we’d love to hear from you!
