Arbroath Private Guitar & Bass Tuition
Hello musicians and all future guitar/bass players, I'm Scott.
I worked for a dance/music organization called Showcase The Street, I've only recently decided to go private. Within my time at Showcase I tutored many kids and adults, I also worked with schools and people with learning difficulties. I occasionally gather all kids that are interested to take part in music camps, this gives them a chance to play along side other kids learning various instruments, we put on a performance at the end for parents and record a CD.
I've been playing since I was 13 years old (now 27) I have plenty experience covering all various styles and techniques. Personally, I think it's important for a person to learn an instrument! Want to be in a band? a singer song writer? Well I can help you out! Please check out my contact information below :D
Styles & levels
I teach most styles and levels, and beginners are welcome. I specialize in rock, metal, blues, pop, indie music, fingerstyle and classical guitar. I teach both acoustic/electric guitar and bass guitar.
Lesson content
All lessons are on a private one-to-one basis. I run three main courses – electric guitar, classical guitar and steel string acoustic guitar. Each of these courses will be tailored to the needs of the individual student. For each style I ensure that students are competent in the basics, before moving on to learn the repertoire and tailor the course toward your goals as a musician - what do you want to achieve? The possibilities are endless
Frequency of Lessons
I recommend a 30/60 minute lesson per week. I try to stick to the same day and time each week wherever possible.
Progress
The speed of your progress as a guitarist will depend on how hard you work at it. I cannot guarantee results! I can however offer you expert tuition and guide you through every stage of your guitar playing. Only your motivation and application, coupled with my support, can turn you into a guitarist.
In order to be able to play effectively, you must be aware that it is necessary to work at material over and over again until it is internalized, and that some students need more repetitions than others to achieve this internalization. You need adequate practice time to absorb the information from one lesson before we can move on to the next. Basically, you need to do your homework to succeed.
