Angus Credit Union
Angus Credit Union offers saving and borrowing services to people living or working in Angus, Scotland.
ACU helps local people avoid the high interest rates of doorstep and payday lenders, store cards and credit cards.
ACU encourages people to develop a savings habit, and works with local schools to run money management workshops for children.
ACU is a local financial co-operative, owned and controlled by its members, with no external shareholders. All its profits are put back into the business to cover its operating costs, and any surplus is distributed to members.
ACU membership is open to both individuals and organisations.
ACU is regulated by the Financial Services Authority and members' savings are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
ACU was the first credit union in the UK to be awarded funding by the Big Lottery Fund.
