Here at the Derbyshire Pony Trekking Centre we cater for all levels of experience. If your dream is to take a steady trek through picturesque woodland or to experience adrenalin filled fast pace treks with long canters and gallops, we can fulfill all your dreams.
We can offer complete off road riding so there’s no need to worry about meeting up with heavy traffic!
Experience treks through some of the most beautiful Derbyshire Countryside including Poulter Country Park, Scarcliffe Park Woods, and the quaint villages of Whaley and Elmton.
From the viewpoint on top of Poulter Country Park you can enjoy breath taking views across the surrounding countryside to Creswell, Langwith, Clowne and on a clear day over the Welbeck estate towards Lincoln Cathedral.
Look out for the Buzzards & Herons flying overhead whilst taking a steady trek around the Nature Reserve.
No previous riding experience is necessary as Derbyshire Trekking Centre has a selection of horses and ponies suitable for most age ranges and abilities.
On arrival basic tuition is given to all trekkers. We will provide you with a riding hat, which complies with the latest health and safety requirements.

Please Note:
Please arrive half an hour before your ride so that we can match you to one of our carefully selected horse /ponies.
Footwear:
For your safety and comfort we recommend that you wear suitable footwear i.e. preferably boots with a smooth sole and a low heel.
Clothing:
Clothing should be loose fitting and comfortable. Waterproofs and gloves are advisable. Riding Helmets are provided at no extra cost.
