Our bakery was established in 1924 by Cyril David Pocklington, and is now run by Cyril's grandson; Chris Pocklington and his wife Tina - with both children helping out - making it a Traditional Family Business.
Our modern bakery is situated in the small village of Withern, where the family have lived since the mid 1800's.
Wherever possible, we use locally sourced ingredients - locally grown wheat for our flour, local eggs & vegetable oil for our cakes, the milk for our delicious Egg Custards comes from the local dairy, and we cook all our own meat for pies, pasties and savouries - all sourced from the local butcher.
We are also a business that supports it’s local community. Many of our girls ran the Cancer Research Race for Life this year raising £555.47. We have had collections for The Arc animal shelter and raised money for the Louth Hospice, as well as donating products to many local fund raising events.
Our most famous product is our Award Winning Traditional Lincolnshire Plum Bread – based on Myra Pocklington (the wife of our founder)’s original recipe, which has been posted to customers worldwide! We also bake a new Luxury Plum Bread – made with cherries and hint of spice – a recommended try!
We bake a wide array of delicious sweets and savouries – from our home made haslet to our indulgent Death by Chocolate cake, as well as a variety of hot and cold sandwiches in our Louth shop made freshly on the premises.
We are also Celebration Cake specialists and can cater for your event or occasion.
