Knowsley Flower Show is celebrating its 14th year and is the largest free horticultural Show in the North West, attracting up to 18,000 people. This year's show is expected to be bigger and better than ever. If you've never visited the show before you will be in for a pleasant surprise. The show is set in the grounds of Court Hey Park - home of National Wildflower Centre and former residence of the late William Gladstone. As well as a giant floral marquee - which is always a blaze of colour and which houses over 400 exhibits - there is a fantastic array of entertainment and attractions on offer, including falconry displays, guided walks, a woodworker, craft demonstrations, dog obedience, arts workshops and circus skills. A large craft marquee will feature in the show along with many trade stands ranging from garden centres to conservatories. There is a 'gardener's question time' where you can seek gardening tips, and a large farmers' market... in a nutshell a great day out for all the family.

Originally established in 1979 as a service for adults with learning disabilities KDC has developed and evolved into a modern, forward-thinking agency specialising in delivering services to support local people to live independent lives in the community. Our Vision is to see communities where all people are included, live independently and are valued as equal citizens KDC is a Company Limited by Guarantee, number 5002948 and a Registered Charity, number 1103477 and we are regulated by HM Revenue and Customs for the purposes of providing financial management and payroll services. Our information and advice standards are quality assured by the Community Legal Services Commission. We work closely with Knowsley Social Services as well as the local Primary Care Trusts and sit on the strategic partnership boards. KDC is a founder member of the Knowsley User Led Organisation as well as the Knowsley Advocacy Hub. Nationally, we are a members of DIAL UK – the network of Disability Information and Advice Lines and the newly formed Disability UK. KDC is also an associate member of MENCAP.

Knowsley Centre for Independent Living (CIL) aims to make life easier. We are a partnership of organisations who work together to promote independence. The CIL has been developed with the Knowsley User Led Organisation (ULO) ensuring that local people influence what and how services are provided in Knowsley. The CIL provides a number of services which can help people to live more independently. With our own plan showroom, there is a range of equipment on display that local people can drop in and try out such as stair lifts, chaits, beds, mobility, bathing and toileting aids. Our friendly staff are available to provide advice. There is no requirement to book an appointment to visit the CIL showroom. You can just drop in.

We meet for worship, fellowship and service on the boundary between Liverpool and Knowsley. We are a small but growing fellowship of about 50 people but everyone that knows us says that we give visitors a warm welcome and are friendly.
