Cranleigh Piano Tutor
Rachel Musgrove is a well-known accompanist for youth choirs in the West Surrey area. She helped to set up Glebelands in Harmony, which won its class at the Godalming Music Festival in 2012. She is now embarking on training choirs and teaching Key Stage 1 music at St Ives School in Haslemere.
Rachel teaches piano mainly from her home in Cranleigh, where she is the proud owner of a beautiful rosewood Ibach baby grand, with ebony and bakerlite keys. She studied piano with Harry Baxter.
Rachel is a committed choral singer, who has studied with Jenevora Williams and Ann Lampard. She sings with the award-winning Surrey Hills Chamber Choir. She is a founder member of the small vocal ensemble, Octet and Co. As well as piano lessons, Rachel works with youth vocal ensembles, teaching healthy vocal technique and the skill of singing in harmony.
Rachel also teaches Grade 5 music theory to those that want to take their graded examinations on any instrument further.
Rachel has Grade VIII piano and singing with distinction, a 2:1 from Leeds University where she won the composition prize, and also has a MMus from Surrey University. She is CRB checked and lives in Cranleigh with her husband David, (well-known locally as an amateur bass trombonist), and two daughters, Lottie and Esther, who are currently studying at Godalmining College and St Peters.
