BSc Sport and Exercise Science SPS Diploma Sports Massage Therapy Registered Member of the Sports Massage Association I have always had a keen interest in Island sport having represented Guernsey in swimming at the Island Games and also at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. I went on to pursue this interest by studying for a Sports and Exercise Degree at the University of Bath. After thoroughly enjoying a module in sports massage and with a strong desire to continue working within the sport and exercise environment, I obtained a SPS Diploma (level 4) in Sports Massage Therapy. Currently I am studying at the North London School of Sports Massage for a BTEC Diploma (level 5) in Sports and Remedial Therapy, allowing me to gain in depth experience in advanced techniques including soft tissue release, myofascial release and muscle energy techniques. I have been practising as a sports massage therapist in Guernsey for the past 10 years. As part of the the Guernsey Medical Team, I have provided sports massage at the past 5 Island Games and at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. I continue to work closely with many of the Island sports including cycling, swimming, athletics and football. I have also built up a strong non sporting client base as sports massage therapy is essential in helping to relieve many day to day problems including postural dysfunctions, repetitive strain injuries, tension and fatigue.

Let me introduce myself…… I have a love of beautiful things, things that the majority of people would not find beautiful, I see a crumbling house with peeling paint and immediately want to live there, A dusty shed full of rusting objects is like a wonderland to me, I love to take what other people no longer love or want and make it into something beautiful for others to enjoy, it doesn’t take much to change the way someone views another persons unwanted possessions. My main focus is on fabric, taking other peoples old curtains, dresses, tops, skirts, shirts, covers and making them into something completely new, it is a rare day when I buy fabric off the roll. The buttons I use in my creations are also of the same ilk, although I cant understand how a button could ever be unwanted, in fact 90% of the materials that go into making any one piece of my work are made from an assortment of rescued items, the only thing that isn’t is usually the thread which holds it together! On the odd occasion I do find larger objects which are too beautiful to walk away from, these I offer a little TLC and soon enough they’re ready to be enjoyed again, in a perfect world there would be no such thing as waste and this is my step towards that
