Audoire.
Let me introduce myself…… I have a love of beautiful things, things that the majority of people would not find beautiful, I see a crumbling house with peeling paint and immediately want to live there, A dusty shed full of rusting objects is like a wonderland to me, I love to take what other people no longer love or want and make it into something beautiful for others to enjoy, it doesn’t take much to change the way someone views another persons unwanted possessions.
My main focus is on fabric, taking other peoples old curtains, dresses, tops, skirts, shirts, covers and making them into something completely new, it is a rare day when I buy fabric off the roll. The buttons I use in my creations are also of the same ilk, although I cant understand how a button could ever be unwanted, in fact 90% of the materials that go into making any one piece of my work are made from an assortment of rescued items, the only thing that isn’t is usually the thread which holds it together!
On the odd occasion I do find larger objects which are too beautiful to walk away from, these I offer a little TLC and soon enough they’re ready to be enjoyed again, in a perfect world there would be no such thing as waste and this is my step towards that
