Digital Fabrication Laboratories (Fab Lab) were set up to inspire people and entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into new products and prototypes by giving them access to a range of advanced digital manufacturing technology. The idea was conceived by renowned inventor and scientist Professor Neil Gerschenfeld at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His idea is a simple one; to provide the environment, skills, advanced materials and technology to make things cheaply and quickly anywhere in the world, and to make this available on a local basis to entrepreneurs, students, artists, small businesses and, in fact, anyone who wants to create something new and bespoke. A global network of over 150 Fab Labs now exists, connecting people, communities and businesses across the world and enabling them to collaborate, problem solve and brainstorm ideas.

We offer a varied range of running disciplines, road cross-country & multi-terrain. In the winter months we keep to the well lit roads of the town. In summer we can be found in the local country lanes or on the hills of Helsby and Frodsham. As a special treat we even have a jaunt up Moel Famau from time to time. So if your brief is weight control, improve your fitness, upgrade from another sport, return from injury or your just another running nut, come to one of our training nights held on Tuesday’s or Friday’s. We meet at the Whitby Sport & Social Club at 6.45 p.m., runs commence at 7.00 p.m. So why not come along, no qualifications necessary, just the willingness to run or jog as you see fit.
