One in three of us will get cancer. 889 people will be told today the devastating news they have Cancer. For most it will be the toughest fight we ever face. I am asking you to follow my crazy challenge also, donate and get involved. No one should face cancer alone and with your support fewer will. Why am I doing this challenge? I am a 37 year old man who lost his mother to Cancer at the age of 21, I have never made any effort to raise money or been financially able to show my appreciation to the wonderful and caring people who made my amazing mums time as comfortable as possible. Recently my fabulous Mother-in-law had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and thankfully has had a more positive outcome. I feel it is time to stand up and help in the fight of Cancer in the biggest, loudest and most insane way possible. So being an obese middle aged father of 2 with a temperament that makes Karl Pilkington seem positively joyful I thought I'd do the most mental thing I coud think of and so "4 Marathons & 4 Mountains" was born. I am not a climber, I am not a runner, in fact I've always been someone who enjoys staying inside with the heating on curled up under a blanket and watching re-runs of The A-Team. So why choose to spend time on mountains in Alaska, Africa, Argentina & the remote ice fields of Russia and why choose to run 4 marathons with plenty of other nutjobs?? Simply put - it is time to make a difference and together, with your generosity & my desire to take off this fat suit I've been wearing for the last 2 decades, we can really help cancer sufferers & their families.
