The George and Dragon which sits opposite the market square in the thriving South Norfolk village of East Harling has recently reopened after complete refurbishment. Situated just of the A11 (Thetford 15 mins, Norwich 20mins) the George and Dragon provides a perfect base if you are visiting Norfolk for business, holiday, or Snetterton Race track. We offer a great pub atmosphere with log fire and an interesting selection of local ales as well as a traditional pub menu providing a variety of mouth watering dishes. Our 4 ensuite rooms offer very comfortable accommodation with the benefit of flat screen TV’s free wi fi tea and coffee making facilities and the best breakfast around. The George and Dragon was purchased in early December 2010 by Chris and Morag Burnard who have restored several local pubs in the area and re established them as quality freehouses with a great community feel. After total refurbishment of the two bars to provide a mix of traditional and ‘shabby chic,’ the pub was reopened on 22nd December 2010 to provide a traditional village pub. The restaurant was re opened In may 2010 which has a stylish bistro feel and serves quality home cooked food, combined with great service .The four ensuite bedrooms have also undergone a program of complete refurbishment to provide superb accommodation in a comfortable and friendly environment. With the addition of a stylish patio and beer garden we offer our guests what we hope will be an outstanding experience. Children are welcome but must be seated at a table if inside. Dogs are also welcome in the front bar only, provided they are kept on a lead. Our aim is to provide a fun, safe environment for all clients and staff to ensure full enjoyment of our riding school and facilities.Lessons are offered as private, semi-private, group or hack lessons. Holiday clubs and corporate team building days are also available. Middle Harling Riding School is approved by the Association Of British Riding Schools and a registered Pony Club Centre. The riding centre is also home to The Buckenham House (Riding Centre For The Disabled Group). Our well-mannered horses and ponies are suitable for a wide variety of clients from small children to mature adults of all levels and capabilities. We are able to provide footwear and riding hats as required. We offer mainly off-road hacking areas in wonderful forestry. A fully equipped indoor arena allows you to enjoy a quality riding experience in a controlled environment.
