We provide a perfect base for daytrips: Dorchester, Bridport and Weymouth are all within easy reach which includes Portland Harbour the site for the 2012 Olympic sailing events! The world heritage ‘Jurassic Coast’ is only five miles away, with its numerous beaches and attractions.
Within a two-hour drive of London and benefiting from a direct train service from Waterloo, our county town Dorchester is just a few miles away. A bus service connects hourly with Winterbourne Abbas. Walking, cycling or beach trips: whatever form your relaxation takes we are here with the world at our doorstep, come and join us…
'The Granary' is a warm and welcoming holiday home that we hope you will enjoy as part of your stay in West Dorset. Parking is directly outside the dwelling on private ground and is well away from any road.
The lounge is a cosy haven and has all the modern conveniences: Satellite TV, and DVD. Through the backdoor is an enclosed , sunken 'court yard' garden which is bathed in sunlight throughout the day and features a giant chessboard incorporated into the design of the paving . The main double bedroom is spacious and inviting, providing a peaceful sanctuary for you to enjoy. It is spacious enough to provide plenty of room for a cot if you so require. The second bedroom is once again furnished to the highest standards and provides two single beds each with sufficient 'personal space' to feel relaxed and accommodating. Leading from the hall, the roomy bathroom features a large enclosure style shower and the available space in the room means that there is ample space for family requirements.
Lavender Lodge is a modern 2 bedroom bungalow annex which is both airy and light. It features a large entrance hall with storage facilities for walking boots, a living area which comprises of a lounge, dining area and kitchenette, and a large family sized bathroom plus an additional drying area.
There are two bedrooms: a double and a twin. The annexe also features a private patio area ideal for barbeques and a small shared garden. In addition secure storage can be provided for cycles or any other large items you may wish to put away. Parking is directly outside the dwelling on private ground and is well away from any road. The main bedroom features a double bed with plenty of space for a cot, which we can provide should this be required. The second bedroom is a twin, but can be rearranged into a further double on request. All bed linen is provided although you will need to bring your own towels.
The units are double-glazed throughout and has electric panel heaters in every room enabling occupancy throughout the year. Pets are welcome and may be responsibly walked in the farms paddock. A local garage shop sells basic commodities and it is a five-minute walk to the pub, which offers a full bar menu and carvery. The pub also runs a 'pub quiz' every Sunday throughout the year and other special events such as a New Years disco.
