Cleethorpes Pier was ere
On the golden sands of Cleethorpes stands a landmark so rich in heritage that if its very foundations could speak it would tell tales of old, tales of generations that have passed. Withstanding a great fire and two world wars this landmark has been a prominent feature for over 100 years where people would flock to in order to be entertained with summer shows and fares.
This landmark is Cleethorpes Pier.
As the sands of time have literally passed with the tide, Cleethorpes Pier seemed to find itself fall on hard times. With a string of successors who never won success, the heart of this seaside town was slowly beginning to stop beating…but things are about to change.
Recently reviving itself on the family element and enticing locals and visitors alike to the restaurant have been positive moves forward, but now the Pier will be making another exciting change with the help of a new Live Events Manager who will be taking responsibility of booking and promoting all events in-house. The Pier will no longer have to rely on outside promoters, which will give control and consistency back. Consistency is key, as with so much variation the Pier lost identity. Falling into the wrong hands and attracting the wrong clientele has been its downfall, however an identity has been restored and the Pier can proudly announce that from now on it will be taking form as a live music venue.
As a country, music is our legacy. We produce some of the finest talent in the world. Instead of travelling further afield in to cities to enjoy these pleasures, Cleethorpes Pier aims to be the hub for the whole spectre, including local bands, emerging talents and some of the best acts in the UK. The new Live Events Manager is local lad Richard Dutton, who has first hand experience of the live music industry from the perspective of a musician playing around the country, but most importantly as a music lover. A dedicated live music venue will give people a place to come to enjoy some fantastic artists, but also be a base for local talent to showcase their material alongside more popular names, which will hopefully in turn be a turning point for many of their careers.
As well as attracting visitors, Cleethorpes Pier is also going to be a place for the local people to relish in. Somewhere to come with friends where you know exactly what you’re getting, to be surrounded by like minded people. No more monotonous routine, this is going to bring back life to this beautiful seaside gem.
Memories last a lifetime, and this new venture is sure to give you all just that.
