Quantus
Chiswick's Quantus Restaurant single-handedly proves that small neighbourhood restaurants are now holding their own against the big city hitters.
Mainly catering to local residents who, in this well- heeled and expensive London suburb, are used to good service, attractive surroundings and high quality food, Quantus is proving to be a real favourite, with guests returning often.
The white walled simplicity of the décor is given pretty, designer style touches with the addition of large, lace pattern light fixtures, a touch of exposed brick and a well laid out bar. Quantus has a buzzy, cosmopolitan feel appropriate to its French and Italian roots, with staff who are extremely cordial and appear to know the menu well. And that menu is certainly worth knowing.
Combining Gallic and Italian influences as flavours, Quantus's food is inventive without veering in to pretension, dishes presented beautifully but certainly not at the expense of flavour. Romantic and chic, Quantus might be a 'little local' but it's got big city style.
