Today Shepherds Friendly Society is a multi-million pound operation, looking after over 43,000 members throughout the UK, but our beginnings were more humble. We started life as a sickness and benefits society and were an amalgamation of various fraternal groups - The Royal Shepherds Sanctuary Benefit Society which was established in Yorkshire in the early 19th century, Ashton Unity which was formed in 1826 and the Ancient Order of Shepherds. Still known for reliability, trustworthiness, competence and care, Shepherds Friendly Society has grown from a traditional insurance provider to a modern broadly based financial organisation. JUST SWIM has a progressive water confidence and learn to swim programme that can be started when your baby is just a few weeks old, which incorporates water safety from the first session. Lessons are for 0 to 3 years olds. Each programme runs for 10-13 weeks (term time only) and each session lasts 30 minutes. Each session will have a maximum of 8 babies/ toddlers and 8 parents/carers with the ASA qualified instructor teaching in the pool. Session are currently being delivered at The Seashell Trust, Stanley Road, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. JUST SWIM gives confidence to babies and toddlers in the water. We provide a gentle introduction to swimming in a playful, fun and safe environment with a progression that will develop natural swim skills.
