During weekly sessions of 75 minutes, we use crafts, games, stories, role-play work-sheet activities and computer games to teach children to recognise all the letters of the alphabet, and to remember the letter sounds. We put letters together to make words, showing the children how to read and spell. We practise pencil-control, working towards writing skills. We help to enhance listening, visual and memory skills.
Our sessions help children to be ready for school socially, as well as academically. Children learn to work in groups and individually, to follow instructions, to take turns, to respect other chilldren, to gain the confidence to contribute, but not at the expense of others.
