Shefford and Local Villages
As a Social Media Manager, I'm very aware of the benefits Facebook can bring to local businesses, so I've set up this page to be a one stop shop for everything that's going on in my local area. If you own a local business, are organising a charity fundraiser, or want to raise awareness of a local issue, or anything else relevant to the people of Shefford and the surrounding villages, then this is where you need to advertise it! The best part is it's completely free! All you need to use this page is your own personal facebook profile.
So what do you need to do now?
If you are a local business owner, inroduce yourself on our wall. Let us know what service or products you provide. If you like, you could offer a special deal to anyone who mentions "The Shefford & Villages Local" - you don't have to, it's just a sugestion. If you have your own Facebook page or website, do include links so we can find out more about you. Once you've posted, make sure you keep popping back to see if anyone has posted a query under your message, you would then need to reply.
Are you involved with a local charity?
Come and say hello on our wall - tell us about your charity, who benefits, what help you need etc. If you have a Facebook Page or website. make sure you post a link to it. Don't forget to pop back to publicise any fundraisers you're holding! Keep checking back with us to see if you've generated any responses from the local community - you can then respond.
Do you live locally?
Pop by and see us regularly to find out what's happening now, tomorrow, next week and beyond. If you have a question about a specific post, enter a comment against the post and the originator will respond to you. If you see a post that's helped you, either click on the ‘like’ button next to the post or leave a comment.
Are there any rules?
Well just a few, to ensure this remains user friendly...
1/ I don't want this page to be overtaken by spammers, so please don't post more than once in a week. I'll delete them if you do.
2/ This is a local page for local people, so if your organisation isn't local, I'll be deleting your post. Sorry!
3/ If you make a post, you must check back to respond to queries. This is for your good as much as the usefulness of this page. If you ignore your customers or potential customers on Facebook, we can all see that you have and will be unlikely to use you! Facebook amplifies your service, so make sure it's positive!
4/ Please tell everyone you know about the Shefford & Local Villages page. Without your participation, this page won't work, and it could be so good!
