Tywyn railway station

Tywyn railway station serves the town of Tywyn in Gwynedd, Wales. The station is on the Cambrian Coast Railway with passenger services to Barmouth, Harlech, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Aberdovey, Machynlleth and Shrewsbury. The line was built by the Aberystwyth and Welsh Coast Railway in 1863 and became incorporated in the Cambrian Railways in 1867. Until the 1960s there was a summer service between London Paddington and Pwllheli, via Birmingham Snow Hill, Shrewsbury and Machynlleth.

Our 701 service from Aberystwyth to Cardiff calls at Aberaeron, Lampeter, Carmarthan, Cross Hands, Swansea and Port Talbot. It is known as the Blue Bus service by many of our passengers although it is a coach and not a bus. Passengers who hold a Welsh Conncessionary Pass are able to use it throughout the journey with no extra charge. We also offer Student discounts for those students who have a valid Student Union membership card. All hearing and seeing guide dogs are welcome aboard.
