New Roots Drop In Centre
A self supporting group for people to join, so that we can help them to help us to help themselves. We have created a safe, welcoming and non -judgmental environment for all ex-service users in the Barrow and surrounding area's to continue their recovery from drug or alcohol dependency.
It is democratically run and all members will be empowered to take part in the monthly members meetings to discuss progress, ideas, and all general aspects of the running of the club.
Our aims are a direct reflection of the Drug and Alcohol Directorate.
We will provide help and support to all members in their continued recovery.
We will encourage all members to return to full/part time employment, college or vocational courses and or voluntary work.
We will have guest speakers whom work in all areas of the National Health and Welfare services.
We will also support club members and their families with educational discussions and presentations on the many associated topics of drug and alcohol miss-use.
And we wil have many social activities such as fell walking, fishing, community garden work, fishing and hopefully many more. For the greatest success of this group we hope every member will join in BUT at their own pace or within their own particular areas of like. No one have to take part, but the more the merrier.
