Malvern Hills Foodbank
Unit 3, Howsell Road Industrial Estate,
Malvern
,
Malvern Hills foodbank supports local people in crisis with emergency food. It is a community project lead by Churches Together in Malvern.
Most people who come to the Malvern Hills foodbank for emergency food are not homeless. They are families who have hit hard times, people who have been made redundant, become ill or are experiencing benefit delay: they are the Malvern’s hidden hungry.
Food is donated by churches, schools, business and individuals. We use non-perishable food suitable for people with limited cooking facilities.
Malvern Hills foodbank volunteers collect the food from donation points and take it to our e storeroom at in Malvern.
It is sorted to make sure it is in date and ready for distribution to our clients.
Local care professionals such as doctors, social workers, health visitors, CAB and school support staff, identify people in crisis and issue them with a Malvern Hills foodbank voucher.
Clients bring the voucher to our foodbank centre and it is swapped for three days emergency food.
Malvern Hills foodbank signpost clients to organisations able to help combat longer term problems.
