Howard Garden Social & Day Care Centre has provided a meeting place for the people of Letchworth since 1953. The Centre is also available for hire.

Everyone has skills that they can offer, from sharing their musical talent, helping with gardening, helping to organise a community event, or spending an hour with someone that may have otherwise spent the day alone. Every hour that you give earns you one ‘Time Credit’, and you can spend your Time Credits by asking someone to help you out for an hour.

There is much to see at Priory Park. Walk in the footsteps of medieval monks and imagine how the buildings once looked with the aid of our interpretation panels. A herb garden grows plants that monks would have used for medicinal, culinary and ceremonial purposes. The South Downs frame the site; providing a spectacular setting. Lewes Speakers Club is part of Toastmasters International, which was founded in 1924. It is a global organisation, with 280,000 members worldwide. Lewes Speakers Club has been going for a year and is on its way to becoming one of the town's liveliest clubs.

We meet every Monday evening at 7:30pm at St Mary's Supporters' Club between September and March. All standards of photographers are welcome. You don’t have to be an expert to join us and if you want to come along for a visit one week, just turn up. We have club competitions for prints and for projected images (digital or slides) and we also enter Sussex-wide competitions as a club. Our 2012-13 season starts on 17th September, and during the summer we have several sociable photographic outings.
