Are you ready for a fantastic day or running, jogging, occasional walking and lots of family fun....then make sure that you sign up for a place in the Huddersfield Marathon, half marathon or family fun run. There is something for everyone. We will be having a typical British Fete type day with lots of stalls and activities to keep everyone occupied, and of course three races for you to choose from. We are still finalising details at the moment on the route and charity we will be supporting, but rest assured its going to be a great day!

DART is the ideal way to get professional artists, art shops, craft shops and local colleges/universities to help donate a piece of art which then would be either sold at an exhibition event or auction. Their arts will then be displayed with a plaque saying who donated it and their contact information.This art and craft is an ideal way to get local community including local churches and local crafters and artists to use their initiative in order to promote themselves as an artist. This also gives the opportunity for the homeless who use the Mission Café to get involved in making crafts which then can be sold at a craft event.

CRI The Base is a young persons drug and alcohol service which covers the whole of Kirklees. We work with young people under the age of 25 who want support and advice around any issue to do with drugs/legal highs or alcohol. Huddersfield Area Committee is Chaired by Councillor Judith Hughes. The focus for the Committee for 2012/13 will be tackling poverty. dates for future meetings are: August 7th 2012 October 2nd 2012 November 27th 2012 January 22nd 2013 March 26th 2013 all starting at 7pm in Huddersfield Town Centre So what are Area committees? They are local committees of Kirklees Council. All the ward councillors are members of their area committee. They meet regularly and the meetings are open to the public. Down at the detachment we cover a wide range of subjects such as, Drill and Turnout, Map and Compass, Fieldcraft, Shooting and Skill at arms. We also do the Duke of Edinburgh's award and BTEC. We are open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1900-2100. During the year you will also be given the oppurtunity to go away on several weekend camps and also a full 2 weeks in summer.
