Elland Round Table is part of a a national and worldwide organisation. Locally we are best known for staging the annual Elland Bonfire and Firework Display and 'Run for It 5K Fun Run. Our Elland Round Table social program is second to none and new or prospective members are always welcome - we are not 'secret', you don't need to wait to be invited and there are NO funny handshakes! We meet twice a month on a Thursday night at various locations in Elland, Brighouse, Halifax and Huddersfield. Elland Round Table ... Make Friends, Have A Laugh, Do Some Good. Ellesmere Golf Club (est. 1913) is situated adjacent to the East Lancashire Road (A580), prior to the eastbound junction of the M60, and only 10 minutes from Manchester City Centre. The golf club provides some of the most interesting holes through mature trees, in the Manchester area. The golf course is always carefully manicured and very well presented all year round. This beautiful parkland course measures 6287 yards and is a testing par 70. Along with this well established golf course, Ellesmere also has great practice facilities, which consist of a 330 yard practice ground, pitching area, chipping / bunker green, practice net and putting green. The facilities off the course are of the same excellent standard. The clubhouse itself was rebuilt in 1996 and has all the facilities required to accommodate golfers in comfort on completion of their rounds. We have the newly refurbished men's locker and shower rooms (completed March 2006), restaurant, function room, snooker room, TV lounge, as well as separate ladies' and gentlemen's lounges. After your day's golf at Ellesmere, you can sit and relax in the clubhouse, which enjoys great views of the golf course. In particular, the superb Par 3, 18th hole, which is situated right in front of the clubhouse, can be viewed with ease, from the bar and dining area. The club offers excellent catering for all occasions and is served by the club's resident steward, Mr Terry O'Mara. The catering can range from simple sandwiches to a grand dinner for up to 180 people. Our PGA Professional, Simon Wakefield is a accomplished Class A PGA Golf Coach, he offers a great service in all aspects to members, their guests and visitors to the club. He has a well stocked shop offering all the leading brands at discount prices, together with an excellent 'same day' repair service, Tuition is available on the Club's superb practice facilities.
