The former - Spitals Cross School - in Four Elms Road, Edenbridge, which became occupied by pupils in the early 1960's, and later re-named - The Eden Valley School - in 1970, started life as a new concept in architecture when the plans were first drawn up for this new developement in the 1950's, then to it's final completion in the early 60's. The newly designed school was the pride of the town's education system, and heralded a part in the hearts of those, who were not only teachers there, but the many thousands of pupils who passed through it's doors from the early day's in the 1960's. They all felt proud to be a part of the towns education system, during that time and the many years that it functioned as the best school for many miles around...until it's final closure.

We're planning a reunion of those of us who turn (or have turned!) 60 this year. Probably second half of September, probably in the Birmingham area - but we need more people! The 'In it Together' project is designed to provide a platform for fathers who aspire to become positive role models for their children. In the course of consultations with a vast number of young people, it has been acknowledged that in some cases, poor relationships or no relationships whatsoever exists between a high number of children and their fathers. Unfortunately this is a painful reality for some families and if not addressed can lead to challenging issues within the home and socially. So the 'In it Together' project seeks to offer a safe place to develop for fathers and children to begin bridging that gap and to learn, create, have fun and communicate through family building initiatives, multi-faceted workshops, mentoring scheme, activity days with a team of dedicated skilled workers.
