Bobby Newlyn-Jones Artwork ~Creativity with Character~
I’m not fine art. What I am is experimental and not everyone’s cup of tea, and my work is by no means different. I spent half of my life trying to be ‘normal’, trying to be like everyone else and live up to everyone else’s expectations, and then I stopped doing that, and tried as much as I could to be unlike everyone else and be myself. I’m definitely happier with the second half.
My art is often ‘cartoony’, but beneath that it often expresses my fight to be positive through dark times. Some of it is deliberately ‘sketchy’, and this for me is an attempt to reflect my resilience and ability to reshape my mistakes, turning positives into negatives. Anything else in a piece is usually a subconscious decision, but by no means without meaning.
