Dorset Dockers RFC

Dorset Dockers RFC

Potterne Park, Verwood ,
Info Dorset Dockers RFC are a brand new rugby team established in 2013 by ex-players for players. The idea behind us is to remind us all of why we play this wonderful game on and off the field. Even though we are starting in lower leagues, we plan on rising up through the ranks as quickly as possible. We currently are only running a 1st team but plan on developing a 2nds and academy in the future. As with all new clubs, you have to start somewhere so we have agreed to pitch share and work with Verwood RFC to develop both clubs, not just the players but also the local community. We shall be starting our venture playing in the Dorset & Wilts League 2 and competing in the Dorset & Wilts Cup. We plan on playing an eyes-up fast-paced barbarian style with a fun and friendly 15s team made up of various players from around the Dorset county. We are here to win games, climb the leagues but to do it in style with passion and pzazz.

Preston North End Football Club is a professional association football club located in the Deepdale area of the city of Preston, Lancashire, England. They play in League One, the third tier in the English football league system. Originally founded as a cricket club in 1863, the institution adopted rugby union code in 1877. One year later Preston North played its first game under the rules of association football. Preston was a founding member of the English Football League in 1888 and the first league champions, achieving the English football "Double" in the same season by winning the FA Cup without conceding a goal. Preston completed the 1888–89 season unbeaten in both the League and Cup, a feat that has not been equalled, and which earned the team the nickname "The Invincibles". Preston's most recent major trophy win was an FA Cup victory over Huddersfield Town F.C. in 1938. Many important players have played for PNE over the years, including Bill Shankly, Tom Finney, Tommy Docherty, Bobby Charlton, David Beckham, Jon Macken, David Healy, Richard Cresswell, David Nugent, Ricardo Fuller, and Graham Alexander. Based on all the results during its 112 seasons in the Football League from 1888–89 to 2010–11, Preston is ranked as the fourth most-successful English football club of all time domestically, while only Notts County has played more Football League games than Preston.
