Cromer is a coastal town and civil parish in north Norfolk, England. The local government authority is North Norfolk District Council, whose headquarters is in Holt Road in the town. The town is situated 23 miles (37 km) north of the county town, Norwich, and is 4 miles (6.5 km) east of Sheringham. The civil parish has an area of 4.66 km² and in the 2001 census had a population of 7,749 people in 3,671 households. The motto Gem of the Norfolk Coast is highlighted on the town's roadsigns.

Cromer Academy is a secondary school with academy status in Cromer, Norfolk. It has around 517 pupils aged 11–16, a drop in numbers from 715 in March 2006 and is a specialist Sports College Having been a Language College from July 2001 until July 2010. The current headteacher is Penny BignellCromer Academy is coeducational and students are admitted without regard to ability. Priority is given to students from Cromer and the following villages: Gresham, Northrepps, Overstrand, Bessingham, East Beckham, Sustead, Metton, Sidestrand, East Runton, Felbrigg, Aylmerton and Roughton.The school is part of a partnership of schools known as the Cromer Campus, with the neighbouring Suffield Park Infants and Cromer Junior School. Many students go through all three schools in the Campus. In 2006 it reintroduced a House system with vertically integrated form groups with approximately 5 students from every year group in a form.
