The Llantwit Major Fayre Day as it is now called was first run in 2006 by Llantwit Major and Cowbridge Lions Club as it is to this day. 2012 will be the fourth time this event has run and we hope to build on the success of the 2010 event. 2012 will see the addition of many new activities with the aim of getting the community together. This year 2013 will see the event expanded into Cowbridge were we will run a similar event.

Originating from a student volunteer project at Cardiff University, Innovate Trust provides support and guidance to disabled people. Our main work is to support people with learning disabilities, but we also support individuals with mental health issues and people with physical impairments. In addition we provide support to elderly, young, disadvantaged and vulnerable members of to local community through our Student Volunteer projects still based at Cardiff University.

I have been a hairdresser for many years and have a huge passion for it, I'm qualified in both levels 2 and 3 and have 8 years of salon experience. After the Guide unit being shut for 2 years, myself - Charlie (Assistant Guide Leader) and Jenny (Guide Leader) will be opening the unit again from 23rd April 2012. Meeting weekly on Monday evenings at Beath and Cowdenbeath North Church at 8 pm - 9.30 pm, leading a unit of girls aged 10 - 14 years. During the meetings different activities will take place such as games, arts and crafts, camp fires and sporting activities. We also encourage the girls to complete some badges and 'Go For It' challenges in which will help them gain or improve their skills such as hosting, communication and cooking, this is normally done during the weekly meetings or within their own time. The girls will have an opportunity to go on various day outs and camp holidays and also take part in various guding events within the local community and nationally. A Member's Sports & Social Club for Isle of Wight Residents. Bar open all week - Catering for Members & Functions. Ours is now the ONLY club on the island able to offer such a wide range of activities as : BINGO BAR SPORTS CHILDREN'S PLAY AREA LINE DANCING CLUB CRIBB LEAGUE POOL LEAGUE DARTS BALLROOM AND SEQUENCE DANCING OVER 60'S CLUB DISCO DUOS AND DANCE CHARITY SHOWS PANTOMIME FIREWORK DISPLAY INDOOR BOWLS OUTDOOR BOWLS CRICKET FOOTBALL PETANQUE The club has qualified coaches for juniors in Cricket, Indoor Bowls, Petanque and Pool. The club facilities are open to all residents of the Island, upon application. Membership forms are available at the door of from the bar.
